If you're also using VisualPrefs, you'll want to start up VP's prefs. There's a big list of "options for frames and windows" on the bottom right hand side of the prefs window. Scroll to the bottom of the list and tick "Don't optimize border rendering". That should get you those lovely birdie textures all around the frames :)
